Gather What You'll Need
In addition to any tools, parts, lubricants and such you might need, consider grabbing the following:
- A pen and paper. Jot down details you'll forget like bolt sizes, torque specs, & part numbers
- A smartphone or camera phone for taking pictures. The more pictures the better.
- A workshop light. Very helpful when working in low light and for photos.
- Cardboard & paper towels are always helpful to keep your work area tidy!
Lastly, unless you're a master mechanic you probably might need some reference material - An existing How-To, a repair manual, an official service manual or all three. You can use these as guides and to get critical information such as bolt sizes and torque specs. Any references you use can be attributed by it in the Source section of your own article. The more information you have at your disposal the better your HowTune article will be.
