Setup Google Send To Car on a Nissan Leaf
Nissan Leafs with the navigation system (SV trim and up) have the ability to receive destinations from Google Maps with a single click, but a few quick steps are required to get the two systems talking.
After having to dig through some outdated information to set up Google Send To Car on my LEAF, I decided to piece together the steps to save you some time.
Setting up this feature is something I recommend doing as soon as possible, since you never know when you might need it the most.
Setting up Send To Car on your computer
Click "Add another car or GPS device"
Select "Nissan" and enter your Carwings username. This is the username you use to log in to the Carwings interface and app, and is listed under "CARWINGS Pin" on the Nissan website. This is not the Carwings password or car nickname.
Press "OK". You're all step up!
Sending destinations on your computer from Google Maps
Search for a destination as you normally would
Click "Send to car". Maps will send the destination to your Leaf.
Sending destinations on Android
Find a destination in the Google Maps app (or any other navigation app that supports sharing)
Select Send To Car
Select Nissan and enter your Carwings username (aka Carwings PIN). You will only have to do this once, as the app will remember next time you share.
Navigating to sent destinations on the Leaf
Press the menu button, then click Destination
Click "Next Page"
Click "Google(TM) Send-To-Car"
Press "Download". The car will vocally announce that it is connecting to the information center.
Your destination will be on the left, ready for navigation.
