Programming Keys on a 5th Gen Chevrolet Camaro

So you just somehow lost the keys to your 5th Gen Camaro and you are forced to replace them through the dealership. You buy the keys (roughly $160, ouch!) then realize you also have to pay the dealer separately to PROGRAM the keys as well to recognize your car. STOP! You can program your keys for FREE and save yourself around $135. All you need is about 30 minutes. These directions can also be found in the Camaro Owners Manual.

Reprogramming your Keys

This procedure will take approximately 30 minutes to complete for one key. Read all directions BEFORE beginning the key program.

Insert the new un-programmed key into the ignition.

Turn key to the ON/RUN position. The security light will come on.

Wait 10 minutes until the security light turns off.

Turn the key to the LOCK/OFF position.

Repeat Steps 2-5 TWO MORE TIMES. After the 3rd time, turn the key to the ON/RUN position. They key is learned and all previously known keys will no longer work with the vehicle. During the last cycle of turning the car ON for 10 min the security light should start blinking. This is good, turn off the car and start your engine.

If you have multiple keys to program, you can now learn all other keys by following the "Programming with a Recognized Transmitter" directions.

I already have 2 keys from the recall. My fob stopped working. And this is not because of the battery. Bought 2 new ones online. How do I program them to my 2013 Camaro?
