Replace The Glove Box Latch on a 1999 Suzuki Vitara
The glove box latch on the 1999-2004 Suzuki Vitara is pretty flimsy. We weren't careful, and we ended up breaking the handle right off. Luckily, you can still find this part for cheap from pick-and-pull places or on eBay.

Removing the Old Latch Mechanism
On the inside of the glove box, unscrew the two screws holding the latch mechanism. Save the screws. The latch mechanism will fall out easily once these are removed.
Compare the old one to the new one. If you're industrious, you could probably swap the parts from the new one onto the old one so your ignition key would still work to lock and unlock the glove box, but that wasn't important to me.
Use the screws you removed earlier to screw in the new latch mechanism. Make sure the latch is unlocked before closing the glove box, or you're gonna have a bad day.
