Changing The Brake Light on a Chrysler PT Cruiser

Brake lights are an easy replacement that can be done in under 15 minutes. The cost for this repair should be under $6.00 (depending on how many bulbs you are replacing.)
- Flathead Screwdriver
- Optional: Gloves (in case of broken glass)
Checking if your brake light is out

Diagnosing this issue is fairly simple. Turn on the lights for the car and see if the brake lights come on. If you have the keyless entry keyfob, press the lock button.
This will cause all of the brake lights to flash once.
If one of the brake lights does not turn on, then it might be time to replace the bulb.

Pull outward on the bulb until it pops out of the outlet. Be careful of broken glass if your bulb has broken like mine did.
Installing the new brake lightbulb
You are now done installing a new brake light. Turn on your lights and test to make sure the lights are on.
