Travel Back In Time With A Delorean Time Machine
So you have a Delorean Time Machine and you need to travel through the spacetime continuum? Great Scott! There's only one Time Machine - I built it. So give it back! However, if you need to travel to 1985 to return it I figured I might as well post this how-to guide.
- Plutonium (I've had mixed results with the Libyans, you may want to talk to somebody else)
- If your Mr. Fusion is functioning then all you'll need is some biofuel. Otherwise, you'll need a clock tower (or some means of harnessing energy from electricity)
- Of course you'll need a working Flux Capicator
- And this might come in handy
Harnessing Electricity
If you don't have a working Mr. Fusion you'll need to generate 1.21 gigawatts of electricity. The only thing that'll generate that much juice is a lightning bolt. You'll also need a way to get a strike, such as a water tower, radio station antenna or a clock tower. Finally you're gonna want a big wire. I'm talking really big. I've made that mistake in the past. Don't do what I did. This resource is pretty useful for working out the math and equations.
Setting the Destination Date
You'll want to set the destination time to the date you're interested in traveling to. As long as your unit isn't on the fritz you'll be fine.
Whatever you do, don't visit the old west. It isn't as romantic as you think it is.
Acceleration!
Find a long stretch of road and increase speed to exactly 88 miles per hour (141.6 km/h). I've added another speedo that's real easy to read just for this purpose.
If you manage to get power to the flux capacitor and hit 88 you'll be well on your way! Hopefully where you're going you have enough road.
P.S.
I need to point out - if you happen to travel to the past you'll want to make sure not to come in contact with your younger self. That will lead to a paradox - I've delt with those in the past with a friend of mine, and it wasn't pretty.

Say Something.Doc, you don't just walk into a store and buy plutonium. Did you rip that off?
