Remove Air Filter Box Cover
The air filter of the Chevy Equinox is located on the left side of the vehicle (passenger side).
There are 4 phillips head screws that hold the cover in place. Take your phillips screwdriver and remove all 4 of the screws. Screws are labeled 1 through 4 on pictures below.
With the 4 screws removed, lift the cover off the filter air box and remove the old filter and dispose of it properly.
Take your new filter and place it back into the air filter box in the same orientation when removed. The angled side should be oriented closest to the passenger side headlight.
This is a very easy routine maintenance item to do on your 2016 Chevy Equinox that can be completed in 5 minutes and can be completed without the use of expensive tools or having a vast knowledge of automotive mechanics.
