Replace The Fog Light Bulbs on a 2012-2017 Toyota Avalon

This article is visible to only you.

Replacing the fog light bulbs on a 4th generation Toyota Avalon is pretty simple. At first they're a little hard to get to, but it's really only a few plastic fasteners, then you can reach in and access the bulb without too much effort.

  • Flat head screw driver
  • Small phillips head screw driver

Gain access to the Bulb

1

Turn the steering wheel toward the opposite side of the light you're going to replace.

If the light you're replacing is on the left, turn to the right.

2

Remove the 3 different clips holding the wheel well edge in place.

3

The bottom pop-out rivet inserts into this weird retainer. Once the plastic rivet is out, it just slides off the bumper.

4

Pull the wheel well liner away from the bumper so you can access the fog light bulb.

5

Remove the fog light bulb connector

6

Twist the bulb counter clock wise and remove

7

Install the new bulb.

Be careful not to touch the glass with your fingers. If you do, wipe the glass clean.

8

Reconnect the wiring connector.

9

Test the bulb by turning on your fog lights.

If the color doesn't match the passenger side, you may wish to replace that one as well.

10

Reinstall the wheel well trim and plastic rivets.

Make sure you get the liner tucked back in place.
