Replace The Rear Blinker Bulbs on a 2012-2017 Toyota Avalon

Despite having LED taillights, the rear blinker bulbs on the 4th generation Toyota Avalon are older style bulbs. Fortunately they are easy to replace and upgrade if you wish.

  • Flat head screw driver

Access the Bulb

Open the trunk.

Remove the top press in plastic rivets

Remove the cargo hook.

Simply use your finger to press the button in the center of the round section of the hook and pull it out.

Fold the carpet back.

Replace the Bulb

Rotate the bulb housing counter clock wise about 1/4 of a turn

When loose, pull the bulb out of the tail light housing.

Pull the bulb straight out of the wire connector

Insert a new bulb

Re-assemble
