Change The Cabin Air Filter on a 2014-2017 Chevrolet Impala

Learn to change a 2014-2017 Chevy Impala cabin air filter. The manufacturer's schedule says to replace it every 22,000 miles. This guide includes all the tools and parts needed to get the job done quickly. The filter is easy to access and can be changed in just a few minutes if you have a screw driver.

Remove the Cabin Air Filter

Open the glove box.

Squeeze the sides of the glovebox in to fully open the glove box past the stop tabs.

Disconnect the glove box dampener.

Squeeze the end of bracket that's attached to the glove box and slide the hoop of the dampener off the glove box.

Remove the inner glove box panel. There are 6 Phillips head screws holding it in.

Remove the air filter cover.

It has a flexible plastic clip on each end that holds it on.

Remove the cabin air filter.

Install a New Cabin Air Filter

Slide the new filter in. Note the OEM filter has a down arrow.

Install the filter cover.

Install the inner glove box panel.

Squeeze the box door back into place.

Reinstall the glove box dampener.
